LA Priest shares Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs remix of "Beginning"
2nd September 2020
Following on from his recent album, GENE – released earlier in 2020 - LA Priest has enlisted Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (aka T.E.E.D.) on remix duties and is happy to share “Beginning (Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs Remix)”. The Italo-disco inspired remix expands the original version, taking it on a decadent, cosmic journey, making it the perfect late summer soundtrack.
GENE was released to widespread acclaim earlier in 2020, arriving four years after the iconoclast variously known as Sam Eastgate, Sam Dust and LA Priest thrilled the world with the cosmic pop of his debut album Inji. The album - the namesake of a brand-new analogue drum machine created especially to make the record – is the product of Eastgate’s nomadic travels across California, Wales and England’s south coast. The album’s lead single “What Moves” reached playlist status at both BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6Music, it was later remixed by the legendary Belgian duo, Soulwax.

Arriving four years after the iconoclast variously known as Sam Dust, LA PRIEST and L.A. Priest thrilled the world with the cosmic pop of his debut album Inji, GENE is named after a brand new modular drum machine Sam dreamt up and built alone. Working in isolation for more than two years, soldering iron in hand, Sam designed GENE using 150 electrical circuits he made up himself.
