LA Priest releases new single and video “Apple”

Following the release of “City Warm Heart”, LA Priest releases his new EP La Fusion, featuring groove-laden new single “Apple”, mixed by French Touch legend Alan Braxe.
“Apple” is lyrically otherworldly, “a pep talk from an alien”, and harks back to the stories of spirits and imaginations of life on the ocean bed that were prevalent throughout Fase Luna, his acclaimed 2023 album. “I wanted it to be enlightening even if the words don’t seem to make sense.” says Sam.
The accompanying video is an extension of the video for “City Warm Heart”; set in a dark forest, a masked figure dressed in a velvet suit dances and bops to the music as if enchanted by its sound.

LA Priest La Fusion

La Fusion was written towards the tail-end of Eastgate’s time living in the Costa Rican jungle where he also wrote the bulk of his acclaimed 2023 album, Fase Luna, and recorded upon his return in his garden shed studio in Wales using his handmade drum machine, GENE. Where Fase Luna offered a raw and unfiltered ticket to another world, La Fusion was written at a time when Sam, although happy in the solace of seclusion, was simultaneously aware that his reconnection with wide-society was on the horizons.
“You cannot blend fusion with something else,” Sam reflects on his return. “Fusion itself is the blending of realities. These are ideas I couldn’t have recorded in the jungle. Maybe they are metropolis songs. I took ideas written outside looking inward and finished them inside thinking outward.”
