The Folk Implosion Release "Natural One" Pop Up Video

The Folk Implosion, indie rock hero Lou Barlow’s side project with John Davis, release a newly refurbished version of the video for their 1995 surprise Top 40 hit single “Natural One.” The video comes ahead of this Friday’s release of Music For KIDS, a reissue of the duo’s soundtrack to Larry Clark and Harmony Korine’s cult classic film. The original video was directed by David and Michael Udris; an updated version was later rolled out featuring clips from Kids. This latest version, created by Tony Giambrone, takes on the style of VH1’s Pop Up Video, adding in bubbles of info nuggets about the video’s costumes and props as well as the band and the film.

Nearly 30 years after Kids’ seismic release, Music For KIDS compiles for the first time all of the songs the duo wrote for the movie, newly remastered, including B-sides and previously unreleased tracks. Many will be available on streaming services for the first time. The album also adds remixes by UNKLE (James LaValle and DJ Shadow) and Dust Brothers and an instrumental version of “Insinuation.”
