"It's difficult to overstate how important DAYS has been to our trajectory as a band. We were really just kids when we made it. I can remember long days and even longer nights in New Paltz, NY laboring over this record. Nobody had ever held us to the standard of quality that our producer Kevin McMahon was holding us to. He even made us tune our guitars between takes! In turn, we held ourselves to the same standard, and the music is a testament to that. Ten years ago you heard it too, and that changed our lives. So here we are, still doing it. We're pleased to invite you to celebrate this album at a few special shows where we'll play it in its entirety, and a bunch of other stuff too! Obviously the band has changed in countless ways over the past 10 years. Come and help us celebrate this landmark of our past while looking forward to new music and an even brighter future.

PS - Incredible cover reimagining done by the singular Robert Beatty, who also designed the original logo."

This past March, Real Estate released Half a Human, a collection of six new songs that were started and finished in two very different places. As Real Estate’s first EP in more than a decade, singer/guitarist Martin Courtney admits that when writing this music, he was feeling weird about being in a band, wondering how the group was still going strong after so many years. But while the architecture of Half a Human was constructed during sessions for their 2020 album, The Main Thing, it wasn’t until after the pandemic hit that they revisited the recordings and arrived at a renewed commitment to their future.

In trading the material back and forth remotely, the members of Real Estate found new ways of working together during lockdown, further exploring the emotional landscapes they’ve been perfecting since their start. On Half a Human, the band cements themselves as indie rock lifers, and moments like the wistful crescendo of the title track will “remind you exactly why you fell in love with their suburban yearning” (Stereogum). Listen to Half a Human, out everywhere via Domino.

Watch a psychedelic series of FISK-directed videos for each song, inspired by old winamp visualizers and created through radical editing of candid footage from each band member, via the Youtube playlist below.

In May, Martin Courtney and bassist/singer Alex Bleeker played a number of games as guests on NPR’s comedy trivia show Ask Me Another; listen back HERE and HERE. And be sure to check out the band’s Lagniappe Session for Aquarium Drunkard where they covered my bloody valentine, John Cale, Roger Miller and Jawbone.

Praise for Days:
The bruised, bottomless beauty of Days suggests that growing up hasn’t always been easy for RealEstate. But these songs will nourish those going through similar changes for years to come.
- AV Club 10/10

Its coherence sounds remarkably effortless
- Pitchfork 8.7/10 Best New Music

the album’s 10 songs manage to both hold up well individually and amount to more than the sum of their parts
- Slant 8/10

Real Estate unspool pretty reveries tinged with enough guilt and confusion to keep them honest. The music runs smooth like passenger-seat leather, with buttery harmonies, strummy melodies and warm-glow reverb softening all edges
- Rolling Stone

Real Estate’s gift is that they either don’t overthink their melodies or they can’t, and the simplicity contrasts with their steady, dreamy atmospherics: instant nostalgia for an angst-free generation.
- SPIN

These songs have a narrow, taut language, one the band is interested in perfecting. There are carefully defined guitar lines that start out optimistic but end up moody and ambivalent
