Peter Perrett shares new song "Heavenly Day" from upcoming album 'Humanworld'
21st May 2019
On June 7th, Peter Perrett will release his new album Humanworld - his second record in as many years since signing to Domino. Today, Perrett shares a third track from the album, “Heavenly Day”.
Reflecting on his history, Peter explains “There used to be a part of me, maybe still is, that doesn’t give a fuck about anything; hence my escapist nature. But having children has changed that. Hence the name of the album. You have to look for the good in the world. A romantic belief perhaps.”
And on Humanworld, that optimistic streak is most prevalent on ‘Heavenly Day’. Elsewhere on the album, Peter continues to dissect romance and politics with his trademark sense of sardonic wit and wry humor, if not with even more vigor and a palpable sense of immediacy. His previously released single “Once Is Enough” received praise from NPR as “an effortless gem whose only sin, at about two and a half minutes, is being over too soon.”
